Plagiarism Policy
Spes: Journal of Education and Language is firmly committed to upholding the principles of academic honesty and publication ethics. Any form of plagiarism is regarded as a serious violation of scholarly conduct and is strictly prohibited.
By submitting a manuscript to Spes: Journal of Education and Language, authors explicitly affirm that the work is original and has been prepared in accordance with accepted academic standards. Authors further confirm that all sources, ideas, data, quotations, and materials derived from other works have been properly acknowledged through appropriate citation and referencing.
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, direct copying, substantial textual similarity, inappropriate paraphrasing without proper attribution, self-plagiarism, and the unauthorized reuse of previously published material. Manuscripts identified as containing such practices will not be considered for publication.
As part of the editorial assessment, all submitted manuscripts are subject to an initial originality screening. The journal employs recognized plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin and/or iThenticate (Crossref Similarity Check), to evaluate textual similarity prior to the peer-review, editing, and layout processes.
Manuscripts that exceed the journal’s acceptable similarity threshold (generally more than 20%, excluding references, bibliographies, and standard methodological expressions) may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the extent and nature of the detected overlap.
If plagiarism is identified at any stage of the publication process, including after publication, Spes: Journal of Education and Language reserves the right to take appropriate action in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Such actions may include manuscript rejection, publication of corrections, retraction of the article, and notification of the authors’ affiliated institutions.
